Sea synergy is in full swing. We have three great marine biologists working with us, Meagan, Elyse and Jenny, this summer on various projects from marine eco tourism to developing the local salmon hatchery for education and tourism purposes, as well as, marine awareness projects. Also future marine biologist Emma Horgan from Ballinskelligs is getting some work experience and helping out at the centre.
The Center is open Monday through Saturday from 11-6pm, so pop in to say hello and discover what lies beneath the Wild Atlantic Way! Marine Creature Feature traveling workshops sponsored by Kerry County Council have started and are on the Blue Flag beaches for the summer. Check out a beach near you on this link and come down to see some cool critters all found in Ireland's sea!
Our first Explore the Seashore kids workshop in Waterville is this Wednesday at 3:30 pm! Fun nature games and exploring what lives on our local beaches from 3:30-5pm for €10 per person. Delighted to say it is very popular and fully booked up. Our next workshop will be on Friday @ 4:30pm -6pm weather permitting and following weeks thereafter according to tides. Please book in advance as there are limited spaces and for other activities throughout the summer keep an eye out on our Facebook page or our blog
Also available are Discover snorkelling lessons for €25 per person and private beach workshops for groups or families. For inquiries call Lucy on 0877850929 or email seasynergy@gmail.com, or see us in person at the Sea Synergy shop! We look forward to welcoming you back to Sea Synergy and seeing you soon!
If you are looking for some other coastal fun on the Iveragh peninsula, check out John and Kerry Ann's Atlantic Irish Seaweed foraging and feast.
Also a new fantastic wildlife app to explore Derrynane area has been developed by Vinny Hyland and can be downloaded onto your smartphone follow the link for more info http://www.vincenthylandartist.com/#!derrynane-app/c247q .

Or pop into the shop to enquire about wildlife watching boat trips, fishing trips and Skellig visits in the SW of Kerry!

We are also delighted to have Asana language students visiting the centre throughout the summer this year and getting them out on the beaches to explore our seashore!

We have been translating the exhibition signage to Irish and Italian to cater for native Irish speakers and our international tourists also.

Please let people know about the centre and that we are open and look forward to welcoming them.

Best for now

This morning the Naíonra from The Glen Preschool came to visit us here at Sea Synergy!! A fantastic morning was had by all and the children got to see whale and dolphin bones and skulls.

They learnt about dolphins and listened to dolphins and whales talking under the sea! They even got to touch some of the live animals in the tanks and did some colouring in  of their favourite animals. Lots of fun and learning had by all!!
